Software Troubleshooting
I get an error message when I install/use the application that the file "mscvcr71.dll" is not found and/or "the file type is not compatible" and I need to download a plug in.
Xingtone uses some of the files that Windows Media Player uses. Please install the latest version on Microsoft Windows Media Player (at least 9.0).
I'm not receiving a text message/my ringtone.
Please confirm that:
- You have selected your phone carrier properly in the Xingtone application settings.
- You have entered your phone number correctly.
- You have text messaging and data services (internet) enabled for your phone.
Additionally, depending on the time of the day, your carrier might be slow delivering a text message - so please be patient.
Why can't I see my songs in my iTunes music folder?
XRM does not see AAC / M4A files on the PC, although it does on the Mac. XRM does not work with files that are digital rights-protected (DRM) files, and this means that songs you purchased from the iTunes store will not work with XRM. On the PC, you will need to convert your AAC files into MP3. Your iTunes help files explain how to do this.
I'm sending a ringtone, the application says 'network connect' but then nothing happens.
It may be that the server was busy. Try sending your ringtone again.
I paid for Xingtone but in the window still says that it is in trial mode.
Check your order confirmation email and make sure that you put in the serial number we sent you. Make sure you entered it correctly (all CAPS). Double check that you put in the same phone number with your order and into the Xingtone Application Settings areas CORRECTLY.
How do I register the application - it says "register." What does that mean?
